Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Dialysis Tech - Dialysis Tech to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide hemodialysis treatments in a 12-station plus 1 isolation station ESRD clinic
• Perform quality control checks including test strips and glucose meter testing
• Manage anticoagulation during dialysis treatments
• Calculate ultrafiltration requirements for patients
• Operate Fresenius 2008T dialysis machines
• Add chemicals to dialysate and ensure proper labeling
• Attach blood lines to dialyzer and connect concentrate lines
• Monitor machine and alarm settings throughout treatments
• Prime extracorporeal circuit and dialyzer before treatments
• Collect blood specimens and laboratory samples as required
• Perform recirculation procedures when indicated
• Monitor arterial pressure, venous pressure, and conductivity alarms
• Provide post-treatment access care and blood return procedures
• Perform equipment cleanup between patients
• Monitor vital signs and assess patient condition throughout treatment
• Report changes in patient condition to nursing staff
• Recognize and respond to complications such as muscle cramps and orthostatic hypotension
• Provide patient education regarding dialysis procedures and care
• Respond to pyrogenic reactions and other adverse patient occurrences
• Follow emergency procedures and perform CPR when necessary
• Maintain infection control and implement isolation precautions with appropriate PPE
• Perform sequential ultrafiltration and PUF procedures
• Conduct phlebotomy procedures as needed
• Maintain storage of equipment and supplies
• Document patient care activities in Epic charting system
• Work Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule from 0500-1730
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4
• Provide care for adult and geriatric patient populations
• Complete 36 hours of orientation
• Maintain current BLS certification and BONENT CHT certification
• Complete required modules pre-start and annually (average 16 hours, non-billable)
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience
• Work 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Must have reliable vehicle for assignment
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
