Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate SLP - SLP to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Holyoke, MA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide speech pathology services for adult and geriatric patients with stroke, infectious respiratory disease, and other diagnoses • Conduct bedside swallow evaluations and dysphagia management • Perform modified barium swallow studies and interpret results • Manage patients with tracheostomy and ventilator needs • Utilize International Dysphagia Diet standards and modify diet orders as needed • Apply thickening agents and manage dysphasia treatment • Document patient care using Meditech Expanse system • Complete assessments, evaluations, and reassessments • Develop and maintain plans of care • Provide concurrent therapy documentation and treatment • Perform discharge planning and documentation • Conduct point of service documentation • Provide patient and family education • Recognize signs and symptoms of physical, sexual, and psychological abuse • Work with interdisciplinary team including respiratory services and interpretation services • Manage patient ratios of 1:15 • Work day shift schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM • Provide alternating weekend coverage from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturdays and Sundays • Maintain current BLS, CCC-SLP, MBSImP, and state license certifications • Utilize specialized assessment tools including BAE, CELF, and WAB • Perform acoustic analysis and voice therapy • Work in both acute care and adult outpatient settings • Complete required training modules and compliance documentation
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in MA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
