Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ER to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Plainview, TX. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide emergency department nursing care with charge nurse capabilities to fill in as needed
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 across all shifts
• Serve as either triage nurse or take patient assignments while in charge role
• Work with diverse patient age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Manage standard emergency department diagnoses and conditions
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
• Complete 40 hours of facility orientation
• Work 6 weekend shifts per schedule as required
• Commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required modules pre-start and annually (average 16 hours, non-billable)
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Maintain valid compact state nursing license
• Float between sister facilities as assigned when required
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including PT, respiratory services, interpretation services, phlebotomy, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
• Perform clinical skills including IV management, medication administration, patient assessment, and emergency procedures
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures
• Complete required compliance documentation and background screening
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
