Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PACU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x10 Days at a leading Hospital in Seaside, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide pre-anesthesia and post-anesthesia patient care in a combined PACU and Pre-Anesthesia unit
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Use clinical judgment to determine staffing needs based on patient acuity, nursing observations, and required interventions
• Provide Phase I PACU and Phase II Recovery care
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and education
• Perform medication reconciliation and administer pre-op medications
• Obtain operative and procedural consent from patients
• Assess and manage patient pain effectively
• Provide discharge instructions and conduct follow-up phone calls
• Interpret and communicate laboratory values to patients and healthcare team
• Implement isolation precautions when necessary
• Execute Malignant Hyperthermia Protocol when required
• Care for patients undergoing general, ophthalmic, gynecology, orthopedic, C-section, and endoscopy procedures
• Provide care for patients across all age groups including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Review patient history and physical documentation
• Utilize Epic charting system for all documentation requirements
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as assigned
• Participate in on-call duties, typically 2 days per week including some weekends
• Work call shift rotation from Friday 0630 to Monday 0630
• Work minimum of 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required training modules pre-start and annually
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment
• Maintain valid state licensure
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, interpretation services, and rapid response teams
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
