Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in the ICU with 1:2 patient ratios
• Maintain current ACLS, BCLS, and NIH stroke scale certifications
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Work minimum of 6 weekend shifts per contract, likely exceeding every other weekend
• Commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Float between ICU units and affiliate hospitals as needed to meet facility requirements
• Manage ventilated patients and complex critical care equipment
• Administer blood products, chemotherapy, and IV medications including cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Perform arterial line management and central line care
• Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and management of external ventricular drains
• Provide care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
• Interpret arterial blood gases and manage dysrhythmias
• Care for post-cardiac surgery and post-neurosurgery patients
• Manage patients requiring continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation monitoring
• Provide care for patients with traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injuries
• Maintain infection prevention protocols and isolation precautions
• Complete 24 hours of orientation training
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules to agency
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
