Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for renal and limb preservation patients including ESRD, ARF, vascular procedures, CHF, diabetics, and diabetic foot ulcers
• Monitor and interpret telemetry rhythms and manage dysrhythmias
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5-6 patients during 12-hour night shifts
• Administer medications and manage central line care and peripheral line care
• Perform pre and post hemodialysis management and assist with peritoneal dialysis treatments
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including hospitalists, RN navigators, nursing assistants, and various support services
• Float to other units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed based on census and skill set
• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Maintain current BLS certification and obtain ACLS and NIH certifications
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Participate in self-scheduling based on unit needs
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation including 2 shifts with preceptor
• Manage blood product administration, continuous bladder irrigation, and feeding tube care
• Implement heparin protocols and PCA management as needed
• Provide non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula oxygen therapy
• Follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols
• Utilize rapid response and code teams when appropriate
• Complete required compliance testing within 48 hours of contract signing
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
