Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in Med Surg Telemetry unit with 1:6 patient ratio
• Care for primary neuroscience patients including stroke, seizure disorders, subdural hematomas, brain tumors, and other neurological diagnoses
• Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring with interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Administer blood products and manage central line care
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips including titration responsibilities
• Provide care for neurosurgical patients and traumatic brain injury patients
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Float to other Med Surg/Telemetry areas and COVID care units as required
• Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Complete 36 hours of unit orientation
• Pass EKG testing prior to start
• Maintain current BLS certification and NIHSS certification
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Provide care in 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) when trained
• Utilize interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
• Manage patients requiring isolation precautions and substance withdrawal care
• Perform non-invasive airway management with nasal cannula
• Participate in rapid response and code team activities
• Make up any called-off shifts within the same week or at end of contract
• Adhere to facility dress code requirements wearing navy scrubs
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
