Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ER to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Lubbock, TX. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide emergency department nursing care for patients across all age groups including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 during all shifts
• Perform triage assessments and prioritize patient care based on acuity
• Manage patients with various diagnoses including stroke, STEMI, chest pain, abdominal pain, trauma, shortness of breath, and other emergency conditions
• Provide care for ventilated patients and manage dysrhythmias
• Perform central line care and management
• Operate and monitor CPAP/BiPAP equipment
• Administer IV vasopressors as prescribed
• Implement and maintain isolation precautions when required
• Manage patients with cerebrovascular accidents (CVA) in a stroke certified facility
• Provide trauma care in a Level II Trauma Center environment
• Maintain current ACLS, PALS, BLS, NIHSS, and TNCC certifications
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Work 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period as required
• Complete 36 hours of facility orientation
• Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as assigned
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and other support departments
• Maintain valid compact state nursing license
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
• Adhere to facility dress code wearing solid navy blue scrubs
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
