Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in ICU setting with focus on neuro, cardiovascular, multi-trauma, stroke, and surgical patients • Maintain 2:1 patient ratios during days, nights, and weekends • Manage high acuity patients including those with traumatic brain injury, post-craniotomy, and spinal cord injuries • Float between ICU overflow and PCU/Tele units as assigned in rotation with team members • Utilize Epic charting system for all patient documentation • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and LA Fire Card certifications • Administer blood products, chemotherapy, and emergency medications as prescribed • Manage ventilated patients and assist with airway management including suctioning • Monitor and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips per protocol • Perform arterial line management and interpret arterial blood gases • Assist with central line care, PICC line management, and IV insertion/maintenance • Monitor patients with external ventricular drains, lumbar drains, and ICP monitoring equipment • Provide post-cardiac surgery care including CABG, valve procedures, and cardiac catheterization patients • Manage patients with IABP, CRRT, and other specialized cardiac equipment • Implement isolation precautions and infection prevention protocols • Obtain 12-lead EKGs and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias • Administer procedural sedation and monitor patients receiving continuous IV sedation • Care for surgical wounds with drains and wound vac systems • Participate in rapid response situations and emergency interventions • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty • Work 3 out of 5 major holidays as required • Maintain valid CA state nursing license • Comply with facility policies regarding floating between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
