Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Orange, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in Labor and Delivery unit for high-risk pregnancies
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications
• Circulate for cesarean sections and assist with high-risk deliveries
• Care for patients with labor complications, preterm labor, hypertension, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, and multiple pregnancies
• Perform cervical cerclage procedures and assist with vaginal deliveries
• Administer antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy
• Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns using external fetal monitoring
• Assist with D&C procedures and version procedures
• Provide care for neonates and adult patients with patient ratios of 1-2 patients
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Float between facilities within the state as required
• Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Maintain valid California RN license
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Care for patients with fetal anomalies, IUFD, diabetes, and other high-risk conditions
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
