Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Hematology Oncology to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care services in hematology and oncology specialty • Administer chemotherapy through various methods including continuous infusion and oral administration • Monitor patients receiving chemotherapy treatments • Administer blood and blood products • Provide care and management of ports and central line/implanted line care • Manage oncological emergencies including Acute Tumor Lysis Syndrome (ATLS), anaphylaxis, extravasation injury, hemorrhage, sepsis, and spinal cord compression • Perform chest tube care and management • Implement neutropenic precautions • Assess and manage symptoms including altered mental status, constipation/diarrhea, dysphagia, edema, nausea/vomiting, and neuropathy • Maintain current BLS certification and ONCC/ONS chemotherapy certification • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Float between facilities within the state as required • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties • Submit monthly cell phone bills for work-related usage when facility phone not provided • Complete compliance documentation and certifications as required • Adhere to facility policies and procedures for patient care delivery
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
