Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Santa Monica, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive Labor and Delivery nursing care in antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum settings • Monitor fetal heart rates and high-risk pregnancies • Assist with vaginal deliveries and circulate for C-sections • Perform sterile vaginal examinations • Provide newborn care and resuscitation at delivery • Deliver postpartum couplet care (newborn and maternal) • Work in OR suite during C-sections with standard equipment • Float to postpartum unit as needed • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation • Work every other weekend as required • Commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as assigned • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, NRP, FHM, and AWHONN Advanced certifications • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Maintain valid California RN license • Obtain LA fire card within 30 days • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Use facility-provided communication devices when required • Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy standards • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, pharmacy, radiology, and rapid response teams
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
