Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - NICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Lubbock, TX. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct nursing care to neonatal patients in the NICU setting
• Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications
• Administer blood products, medications, and IV vasopressors as prescribed
• Manage ventilators including AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP settings
• Perform arterial line management and invasive hemodynamic monitoring
• Care for neonates with conditions including respiratory distress, sepsis, and prematurity
• Manage central lines, UAC, and UVC catheters
• Provide feeding support including bottle, breast, and gavage feedings
• Monitor and manage patients on high frequency ventilation and oscillators
• Perform phlebotomy and IV insertion and maintenance
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Float to PICU/pediatrics and sister facilities as needed
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:3 during assigned shifts
• Complete required training modules pre-start and annually
• Provide patient and family education and support
• Manage specialized equipment including chest tubes and tracheostomies
• Participate in developmental care initiatives
• Work 3 of 5 major holidays as required
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including PT, respiratory, and social services
• Follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
