Position Summary: 
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Lubbock, TX. Key Responsibilities: 
• Provide direct patient care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:2-3 as assigned
• Care for patients across all pediatric age groups including neonates, infants, children, and adolescents
• Perform advanced nursing skills including ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, and ICP monitoring
• Assist with chest tube maintenance and intubation procedures
• Manage central lines, PICC lines, and implanted line care
• Provide care for ventilated patients and manage BiPAP/CPAP therapy
• Monitor and interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac dysrhythmias
• Administer IV vasopressors and continuous sedation protocols
• Manage high flow nasal cannula therapy and external ventricular drains
• Provide post-cardiac surgery patient care
• Perform endotracheal and nasotracheal suctioning
• Maintain telemetry monitoring and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Maintain current BLS and PALS certifications
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed
• Work variable weekend shifts and block schedules as required
• Complete required training modules pre-start and annually
• Commit to working 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience
• Maintain compact state nursing licensure
• Follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols
• Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and dress code requirements
Job Requirements: 
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
 - Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
 - Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
 - Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
 
Other Required Documentation: 
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
 - Two current clinical references
 - State-required professional license
 - Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
 - TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
 - Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
 - Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
 - Must pass background check and drug screening
