Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Evanston, IL. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive ICU nursing care for critically ill patients with 1:2 or 1:1 patient ratios
• Care for CABG/valve replacement patients, ECMO, LVAD, TAVR, and Impella patients
• Manage neurosurgical population including EVD, post craniotomy, ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke patients
• Administer TPA and provide care for patients with deep brain stimulators
• Care for patients with anterior/posterior laminectomies
• Provide care for OB hemorrhagic patients with Bakri balloon and eclamptic post partum patients
• Manage ventilators, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and nitric oxide administration
• Care for patients with tracheostomies and laryngectomy patients
• Perform conscious sedation and ICP monitoring
• Start IVs and manage pulmonary artery lines
• Monitor telemetry and manage ventilated patients
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Work 3x12 night shifts (1900-0730)
• Work 8 weekend shifts in an 8-week schedule
• Work holidays that fall within scheduled shifts
• Float between sister facilities as required
• Pass EKG test within first day at 84% or higher
• Maintain current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in IL
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
