Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for immediate post-operative open heart surgery patients directly from the OR
• Manage patients with CABG, valve repairs/replacements, and dissections
• Interpret and manage dysrhythmias and multi-system organ failure
• Operate and manage Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump and Impella devices
• Provide pre/post cardiac catheterization and intervention care
• Monitor and manage Pulmonary Artery Lines/Swan Ganz monitoring
• Care for patients with Ventricular Assist devices (LVAD/RVAD)
• Perform CVVHD/CRRT procedures
• Manage arterial lines and administer blood products
• Provide central line care and management
• Administer continuous IV sedation and titrate cardiac drips
• Titrate vasoactive drips and manage vasopressors/inotropes
• Assist with chest tube insertion/removal and ongoing chest tube care
• Provide care for ventilated patients and manage ventilators
• Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs)
• Maintain isolation precautions and proper use of PPE
• Manage pacemakers and epicardial pacing wires
• Complete call requirements including 4 weekend call shifts per 6-week period
• Float to all critical care and cardiac step-down units as needed
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 - 07:15
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Respond to call requirements within 30 minutes when needed
• Provide PICC line management when required
• Perform continuous cardiac output monitoring
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
