Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform surgical technologist duties in Main OR and Plaza Surgery Center • Assist with various surgical procedures including Ortho, Neuro, Spine robotics, General/GYN, Robotics, Urology, Vascular, Cardiothoracic, Hepatobiliary, ENT, Plastics and Retinal cases • Staff surgical rooms and provide relief coverage for breaks • Maintain current BLS certification • Practice proper aseptic technique and infection control measures • Handle and care for surgical scopes and fiber optic equipment • Operate various surgical equipment including electrosurgical units, drills, and Da Vinci Xi Surgical System • Follow fire safety, laser safety, and radiation safety protocols • Maintain sharps safety and isolation precautions • Handle specimen collection, labeling, and proper documentation • Follow Universal Protocol procedures including surgical time-outs • Assist with sterilization and disinfection processes • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required • Work on-call shifts including post-shift, night, weekend and holiday coverage • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty • Maintain valid California state licensure • Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for work duties • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Complete compliance documentation and certifications as required
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
