Position Summary:

Key Responsibilities:
• Receive, relay, and document verbal, written, and electronic orders • Prepare patient for procedure and assume responsibility for patient needs during procedures • Demonstrate understanding of human anatomy, pathology, physiology, and medical terminology • Modify care according to patient's age, condition, and abilities • Follow protocols established by licensed practitioner and optimize technical factors while maximizing patient safety • Identify, prepare, and administer medications, including contrast media, as prescribed by a licensed practitioner • Perform venipuncture as prescribed by a licensed practitioner • Evaluate images for quality and ensure proper recording of accurate patient identification and anatomical laterality • Ensure complete examination is performed following protocol • Ensure timely review and transfer of images and pertinent clinical information to a licensed practitioner • Properly operate electronic medical record (EMR), radiology information system (RIS) and picture archiving and communication system (PACS) • Apply principles of ALARA to minimize radiation exposure to patient, self, and others • Demonstrate current knowledge of federal and state radiation safety laws • Properly utilize personnel monitoring devices • Administer medication with an infusion pump or power injector as prescribed by a licensed practitioner • Maintain high degree of accuracy in positioning and exposure technique • Ensure proper equipment performance and schedule maintenance for emergent needs • Assist a licensed practitioner with interventional computed tomography procedures • Perform computed tomography procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner • Float between the ER scanner and the main department scanner as needed • Respond to call requirements within 30 minutes when scheduled • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Maintain current ARRT certification, BLS certification, and ARRT Advanced certification • Perform adult acute care, adult outpatient, and emergency department CT procedures • Conduct specialized procedures including brain perfusion, CT arthrography, and myelography • Perform aspirations and biopsies as required
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
