Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading $facility_type$ in Orange, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for Labor and Delivery patients including high-risk antepartum cases
• Maintain patient ratios of 1-2 patients during day, night, and weekend shifts
• Circulate for Cesarean sections and assist with vaginal deliveries
• Assist with high-risk deliveries and multiple births
• Perform cervical cerclage procedures and D&C procedures
• Administer antihypertensive medications and insulin drips
• Monitor and manage magnesium sulfate therapy
• Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Utilize external fetal heart monitoring (EFM) equipment
• Care for patients with various diagnoses including preterm labor, hypertension, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, fetal anomalies, and diabetes
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Maintain current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate certifications
• Float between facilities within the state as required
• Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Provide supervisory references covering 1 year of experience within the last 3 years
• Maintain valid state licensure throughout assignment
• Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
