Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PACU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading $facility_type$ in Apple Valley, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) nursing services for Phase I and Phase II recovery patients • Manage patients recovering from orthopedic, spine, open heart, abdominal, urological, nephrology, and basic pediatric surgical cases • Monitor and care for patients of all age groups including infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics • Maintain 2:1 and 1:1 patient ratios as required • Administer and monitor vasoactive drips, insulin drips, nitroglycerin, and thrombolytic therapy • Operate specialized equipment including Alaris pumps, suction devices, SCDS, ventilators, and oxygen delivery systems • Perform dysrhythmia recognition and management • Insert and maintain PICC lines • Complete required call shifts including 1x 2130-0730 per pay period and 1x 24-hour weekend shift • Work every other weekend with 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule • Float between all facilities within the state as required • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications • Complete NIH stroke scale assessments • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, and transportation • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Maintain valid California RN license • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
