Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Surgical Tech - Certified Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform surgical technician duties in various surgical specialties including General, Ortho, Ortho/Spine, Ortho/Total Joints, Urology, Endo/Laparoscopic, Vascular, Gyn procedures • Scrub for surgical cases including abdominal hysterectomy, C-sections, Dilation & Curettage, Laparoscopic assisted gynecological procedures, and Vaginal Hysterectomy • Maintain current BLS certification • Operate and maintain Da Vinci Xi Surgical System for robotic assisted procedures • Respond to on-call duties within 30-minute response time as needed • Float between Main OR (6 surgical suites) and Outpatient Surgery Center (3 suites) as required • Work with various surgical equipment including electrosurgical units, endoscopes, fiber optic equipment, and drills • Maintain aseptic technique and follow Universal Protocol procedures • Handle specimen collection, labeling, and documentation requirements • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation • Assist with SPD (Sterile Processing Department) duties as needed • Work rotating shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled • Provide care for patients across all age groups: pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules • Maintain valid state licensure and national certification (NBSTSA or NCCT) • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty • Adhere to facility policies, procedures, and dress code requirements • Work minimum 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Complete required compliance documentation and background verification processes
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
