Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading $facility_type$ in Santa Rosa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in Labor and Delivery and Post-Partum units (LDRP) • Maintain patient ratios of 1:3 across all shifts • Perform labor and delivery nursing duties including high-risk antepartum care • Administer medications including anticoagulants, antihypertensives, insulin drips, and magnesium sulfate therapy • Circulate for cesarean sections and assist with facility births (200-300 per month) • Conduct sterile vaginal exams and triage obstetrical patients • Place and calibrate intrauterine pressure catheters (IUPC) • Maintain and manage central lines (CVC/PICC) • Implement isolation precautions and proper PPE protocols • Utilize Epic charting system for all patient documentation • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Maintain current ACLS, AWHONN Intermediate, BLS, and NRP certifications • Complete required training modules pre-start and annually (average 16 hours) • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment in comparable specialty • Adhere to facility dress code requirements (royal blue or navy blue scrubs) • Complete 36-hour orientation program • Care for neonates and adult patients with daily census of approximately 12 patients • Demonstrate strong precepting skills when required • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules through Workramp transcripts • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
