Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading $facility_type$ in Santa Rosa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide surgical technology services in outpatient and community hospital settings • Assist with orthopedic, neurosurgical, and vascular procedures • Perform scrub duties for trauma cases and emergency procedures • Maintain current BLS certification throughout assignment • Work variable shift times starting at 7am, 9am, 11am, or 3pm as scheduled • Complete on-call duties one weeknight per week and every 2nd or 3rd weekend with 20-minute response time • Work 3 weekend shifts per schedule as required • Operate and maintain surgical equipment including microscopes, laparoscopic towers, and arthroscopic equipment • Utilize da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system and Stealth Navigation Station • Document patient care activities using Epic charting system • Follow aseptic technique and maintain sterile field during procedures • Prepare and manage case carts and crash carts • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as assigned • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Complete pre-start and annual training modules within specified timeframes • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment in comparable specialty • Maintain valid state surgical technician certification (CST or NBSTSA) • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Use facility-provided communication devices for work-related duties when required • Adhere to facility dress code and parking regulations • Complete 40 hours of facility orientation • Provide care to patients across all age groups including pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
