Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Pharmacist - Inpatient to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x10 Nights at a leading Level II Trauma Center in Lubbock, TX. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide pharmaceutical services in a pediatric hospital setting with Level II Pediatric Trauma Center designation • Work 7 days on/7 days off schedule with 10-hour and 11-hour shifts including unpaid lunch breaks • Maintain current BLS certification and other required certifications including BCPS, IV, compounding, chemo/hazardous drug handling • Utilize Epic charting system for documentation and pharmaceutical management • Perform clinical dosing for pediatric, cardiac, renal, and geriatric patients • Compound medications including sterile compounding, chemotherapy, and hazardous drugs • Manage high-risk medications and therapeutic medication monitoring • Operate pharmacy equipment including Pyxis systems, CAD cassettes, and TPN mixers • Handle specialized pharmaceutical areas including oncology, infectious diseases, pain management, and immunologic therapies • Provide pharmaceutical care for diverse patient age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents • Complete required training modules pre-start and annually with self-reported completion times • Commit to working 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) • Maintain valid state pharmacist license and PharmD/RPh credentials • Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years • Float to sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required • Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties • Follow sterile technique protocols and safety procedures for hazardous drug handling
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in TX
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
