Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate House Supervisor - House Supervisor to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with units to determine appropriate shift staffing capabilities
• Assist unit team leaders with coordinating patient placement from Emergency Department, procedure departments, and referring facilities
• Act as a resource to nursing staff for clinical skills, policy and procedures, and other situations requiring leadership
• Facilitate patient transfers in and out of the facility
• Identify patient care delivery issues, work processes, and equipment needs in conjunction with department leadership
• Apply adult learning principles to all education offerings
• Utilize research-based principles in the education of staff and patients
• Function as a role model/mentor and clinical resource
• Support units on nursing needs, including taking assignments, assisting with transportation, and other nursing duties
• Respond to patient care units as hospital-wide SWAT Nurse to handle urgent or emergency patient care needs
• Provide emergency response based on specific unit needs, patient activity and crisis situations
• Respond to medical emergency problems including Code Blue, Rapid Response, STEMI, Trauma, Stroke, Code Grey, MTP
• Support floor staff with concerns regarding patient decline and clinical assessment
• Quickly assess patients when there has been a change in status and provide monitoring and intervention
• Accompany Critical Care or monitored patients during transport within the hospital
• Assist floor staff with difficult IV starts and utilize ultrasound guided IV placement as needed
• Assist floor staff with peritoneal dialysis as needed
• Participate in quality outcomes specific to units or hospital and adhere to all regulatory requirements
• Maintain collaborative relationships with multiple disciplines within the organization
• Interpret and adhere to established policies, procedures, and safety practices
• Adhere to documentation policies and requirements
• Utilize effective communication skills with patients, families, medical staff, and personnel
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in MI
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
