Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct nursing care to obstetrical patients 16 weeks and greater for intrapartum care and high-risk antepartum and postpartum care • Maintain patient-to-nurse ratio of 2:1 in a high-volume unit with average 20 births in 24 hours and 30-40 admits • Perform sterile vaginal examinations and provide competent immediate newborn care • Circulate in operating room for scheduled and unscheduled Cesarean births and rescue cervical cerclage procedures • Provide care in obstetrical triage unit for patient screening prior to admission • Perform routine outpatient procedures including antenatal fetal surveillance, intravenous hydration, and medication administration • Float as needed to Special Maternity Care high risk OB unit and other units within hospital or affiliate hospitals • Utilize EPIC charting system, PYXIS medication dispensing system, and SBAR communication protocols • Work every other weekend with minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule • Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15 • Maintain current BCLS, AWHONN Intermediate, and NRP certifications • Complete 24 hours of unit orientation upon assignment start • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable acute care modules pre-start and annually • Maintain valid RN licensure (NC or Compact license accepted) • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (no RTO allowed during these periods) • Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days and 60 hours per week • Provide two manager/supervisor references from within the past 12 months • Complete required compliance testing within 48 hours after signing contract
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems [Epic, Cerner, etc. preferred]
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
