Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for renal and limb preservation patients including those with ESRD, ARF, vascular procedures, CHF, diabetics, and diabetic foot ulcers
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5-6
• Document patient care using EPIC electronic medical record system
• Utilize SBAR communication method and Pyxis medication dispensing system
• Float to other units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed based on census and skill set
• Work every other weekend as required
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Complete 24 hours of unit orientation including 2 shifts with preceptor and EMR education
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Participate in daily interdisciplinary team meetings with hospitalists, RN navigators, nursing assistants, and other healthcare professionals
• Provide care for hemodialysis patients who receive treatments in the hemodialysis unit
• Assist with peritoneal dialysis patients receiving treatments on the unit with dialysis team initiation
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable acute care modules pre-start and annually
• Maintain current BCLS certification
• Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Follow self-scheduling system based on unit needs
• Comply with facility dress code requiring navy or white scrubs
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems [Epic, Cerner, etc. preferred]
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
