Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Santa Monica, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care as a Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery unit
• Monitor fetal heart patterns and provide fetal heart monitoring
• Care for high-risk pregnancy patients and provide specialized monitoring
• Assist with cesarean sections and vaginal deliveries
• Provide postpartum couplet care for both newborn and maternal patients when needed
• Perform newborn care duties during delivery procedures
• Float to postpartum unit as staffing needs require
• Maintain current ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, BCLS, NRP, and FHM certifications
• Work every other weekend as required
• Commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Maintain valid California RN license
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within last 3 years
• Obtain LA fire card within 30 days of assignment
• Float between all facilities within the state as required
• Use facility-provided communication devices when necessary for assignment duties
• Complete compliance documentation and background requirements
• Adhere to facility dress code and policies
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems [Epic, Cerner, etc. preferred]
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
