Experience
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Respiratory Therapist in an acute care hospital setting required
- Experience in the Emergency Department required
- Experience in adult critical care required
- 1+ year experience working in a Level 3 NICU preferred
License & Certification Required
- Active NYS Respiratory Therapist license
- Active NBRC credential
- Associates Degree (or higher) in Respiratory Therapy or Respiratory Care
Skills Required
- Airway management including performing endotracheal intubations and extubations
- Pulmonary hygiene
- Tracheostomy care
- Emergency life support procedures
- Administering prescribed medications and treatments
- Performing diagnostic testing and relevant exams
- Gathering and assessing patient data
- Observing, recording, and reporting patient symptoms and progress
