Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surigical Tech - ER Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 6x8 Evenings at a leading Hospital in Chewelah, WA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide emergency department technician services for all patient populations including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, and adults
• Work 48 hours per week across 6 eight-hour shifts from 1500-2330
• Maintain current BLS certification and EMT certification
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Work every other weekend as required
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Float between sister facilities as needed
• Manage patient ratios of 1:6-7 patients
• Perform phlebotomy and obtain specimens for laboratory testing
• Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKG/ECG readings
• Monitor and report vital signs for adult and pediatric patients
• Assist with patient procedures including intubations, reductions, splinting, and suturing
• Apply and monitor patient restraints when necessary
• Assist patients with ambulation and feeding as needed
• Manage behavioral emergencies and crisis situations
• Perform glucose monitoring using glucometers
• Maintain proper isolation precautions and PPE protocols
• Provide post-mortem care when required
• Label specimens appropriately and coordinate transport
• Report changes in patient condition to nursing and medical staff
• Assist with wound care, dressings, and splinting procedures
• Operate specialized equipment including lifts, suture carts, cast carts, and glide scopes
• Complete 12 hours of orientation training
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Maintain valid state certification and licensure requirements
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in WA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
