Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - OR to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Glenview, IL. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide OR nursing services for surgical procedures in multiple specialties including ophthalmology, vascular, general surgery, urology, and endovascular surgery • Perform scrubbing and circulating duties for various surgical procedures • Operate and maintain specialized surgical equipment including DaVinci Xi robotic surgical systems, electrosurgical units, and fiber optic light sources • Provide 1:1 patient care across 16 operating rooms • Perform vascular surgery procedures including abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, arteriovenous fistula repair, and TEVAR procedures • Assist with general surgery procedures including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, and hernia repairs • Support ophthalmology procedures including cataract extraction, glaucoma surgery, vitrectomy, and eye trauma cases • Perform urology procedures including cystoscopy and trauma amputation procedures • Administer blood products and monitor cardiac status during procedures • Maintain laser safety, radiation safety, and infection control protocols • Handle and label specimens according to established procedures • Implement Universal Protocol time-out procedures for patient safety • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Float between main OR and cardiovascular OR as needed • Take pre-assigned call shifts (1-2 shifts per week) • Work weekend coverage (2-3 weekend days per 8-week schedule) • Complete facility orientation and ongoing training requirements • Float between multiple affiliated facilities as assigned • Maintain current BLS certification and obtain CNOR certification as preferred • Respond to emergency codes and trauma cases as required • Manage wound care and urinary catheterization procedures • Monitor patients receiving conscious sedation • Start peripheral IVs as needed
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in IL
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
