Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - OR to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Days at a leading Hospital in Glenview, IL. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide operating room nursing services with 1:1 patient ratios • Work 5x8 shifts (0700-1530) with 40 guaranteed hours per week • Take 1-2 call shifts per week as pre-assigned by coordinator • Work 2-3 weekend days per 8-week schedule • Perform scrub and circulating duties for various surgical specialties • Provide care for Ophthalmology procedures including cataract extraction/implant, eye trauma, glaucoma surgery, and vitrectomy • Assist with vascular procedures including abdominal aortic aneurysm repair, carotid endarterectomy, and TEVAR • Support general surgery cases including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colon resection, and hernia repairs • Operate DaVinci robotic surgical systems for general surgery procedures • Provide care for urology procedures including cystoscopy • Handle trauma amputation cases • Use Epic charting system for documentation • Maintain BLS certification and CNOR certification preferred • Follow infection control protocols and universal timeout procedures • Administer blood products and monitor cardiac patients • Handle specimen collection, labeling, and processing • Ensure laser safety and radiation safety protocols • Float between main OR and cardiovascular OR as needed • Operate electrosurgical units and fiber optic equipment • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required • Complete required orientation and training programs • Maintain active state licensure and minimum 2 years OR experience
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in IL
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
