Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - PACU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x10 Days at a leading Hospital in Seaside, OR. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide pre-anesthesia and post-anesthesia care in a combined PACU/Pre-Anesthesia unit
• Utilize clinical judgment to determine staffing needs based on patient acuity and required interventions
• Manage Phase I PACU and Phase II Recovery patients
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and provide pre-operative education
• Perform pain assessment and management for post-operative patients
• Administer pre-operative medications and obtain operative/procedural consent
• Provide care for patients undergoing general, ophthalmic, gynecology, orthopedic, C-section, and endoscopy procedures
• Care for patients across all age groups including adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Interpret and communicate lab values to patients and healthcare team
• Implement isolation precautions and malignant hyperthermia protocol when indicated
• Conduct medication reconciliation and provide discharge instructions
• Make follow-up phone calls to patients as needed
• Review history and physical documentation
• Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as required
• Participate in on-call rotation typically 2 days per week plus weekend rotation
• Work scheduled call shifts from Friday 06:30 to Monday 06:30 on rotation
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
• Complete required training modules pre-start and annually
• Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of experience
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in OR
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
