Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ER to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Orange, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide emergency room nursing care for adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients
• Maintain patient ratios of 4:1 during days, nights, and weekends
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Perform triage and emergency department assessments
• Manage patients with conditions including abdominal pain, acute psychosis, asthma, burns, CVA, drug overdose, head injury, and seizures
• Administer blood products, emergency medications, and IV vasopressors
• Provide care for ventilated patients and manage central lines
• Perform chest tube insertion and management
• Obtain and interpret 12-lead EKGs and arterial blood gases
• Manage dysrhythmias and patients with multisystem organ dysfunction
• Perform intubation and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Handle psychiatric holds and manage violent behavior
• Start and maintain IVs and perform phlebotomy
• Apply and manage splints for orthopedic trauma
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, MAB, NIHSS, and PALS certifications
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Float between facilities within the state as required
• Work 3 out of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Provide 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
• Maintain valid California RN license
• Complete 24 hours of orientation
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
