Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician - Emergency Medicine to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide emergency medicine physician services for locum coverage • Work strictly onsite with no call responsibilities • Cover various shift times including 0600-1600, 0900-2100, 1400-0000, and 2000-0600 • Manage approximately 80 patients per day with 1.8 patients per hour • Utilize Cerner EHR system for patient documentation • Perform family medicine procedures including adult and pediatric outpatient care • Conduct newborn resuscitation and manage non-displaced fractures • Perform suturing of minor lacerations and incision and drainage procedures • Manage uncomplicated psychiatric cases for adults, children, adolescents, and geriatrics • Diagnose and manage common industrial-related medical problems • Provide ventilation management and maintain airways using various modes for up to 24 hours • Evaluate and manage acute volume and blood pressure issues • Perform central line and arterial line procedures • Interpret EKGs and conduct arthrocentesis, lumbar puncture, and paracentesis • Execute emergency medicine related procedures • Clock in and out using DocTime system for accurate time tracking • Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications • Complete required employee health documentation and vaccinations • Work weekends as required • Collaborate with APP support for 12 hours and full ED support team including nursing, tech, radiology, and lab staff
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in MI
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
