Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Cardiac Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Salisbury, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct nursing care to cardiac and stroke patients in a telemetry unit setting
• Manage patient ratios of 5-6 patients per assignment
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias using telemetry equipment
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone
• Provide pre and post-procedure care for patients undergoing pacemaker implantation, cardioverter/defibrillator placement, and cardiac catheterization
• Manage patients with TR bands and post-interventional peripheral vascular procedures
• Care for patients with unstable angina, CHF, dysrhythmias, CVA, and TIA
• Operate specialized equipment including high flow oxygen, non-rebreather masks, and BIPAP for chronic use
• Perform IV starts and provide central line care and management
• Complete thorough patient assessments and documentation using Epic charting system
• Participate in patient admissions and discharges with high turnover rates (78-90 patients weekly)
• Float between units within the hospital and affiliate facilities as needed based on census
• Take call as required based on patient census needs
• Work 12-hour night shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• Maintain required certifications including ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS
• Complete mandatory orientation and annual training modules
• Adhere to fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Work every other weekend plus 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays in a 6-week period
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Pass EKG competency testing prior to assignment start
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
