Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ER to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Evanston, IL. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide emergency nursing care for patients of all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 during days, nights, and weekends
• Perform triage assessment and prioritization of emergency department patients
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Start and maintain intravenous access for patients
• Administer and monitor procedural sedation
• Provide trauma care with Level I and Level II trauma experience
• Work night shifts 3x12 hours (1900-0730)
• Float between multiple facilities within the health system as needed
• Work every other weekend and holidays that fall within scheduled shifts
• Complete EKG testing within first day achieving 84% or higher on first attempt
• Maintain current certifications including CPR, ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including IV teams, respiratory services, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Provide care in a 24-bed emergency department with daily census of 110 patients
• Exercise previous charge nurse experience and leadership responsibilities
• Complete 36 guaranteed hours per week over 6-week contract period
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in IL
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
