Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ER to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Rotating at a leading Hospital in Kodiak, AK. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in the Emergency Room setting
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications
• Manage care for patients across all age groups including neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Perform continuous IV sedation and procedural sedation administration/monitoring
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Start and maintain IV access and perform phlebotomy procedures
• Provide care for ventilated patients
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Work 3x12 hour variable shifts with weekend coverage requirements
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Function independently as ER is staffed with 2 nurses per shift without techs, CNAs, or unit secretary
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Radiology, Social Services, and Pharmacy
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting
• Maintain valid state nursing licensure
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties
• Participate in voluntary on-call coverage for night shift hours as available
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in AK
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
