Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Days at a leading Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Perform surgical technician duties for outpatient and community hospital procedures • Assist in orthopedic, neurosurgery, vascular, robotics, general, GU and GYN procedures • Handle trauma cases as required (hardstop requirement) • Work variable shift times including 7am, 9am, 11am, and 3pm starts • Cover one night shift within contract as needed • Work 12-hour shifts with weekend coverage required • Complete on-call duties one weeknight per week and every 2nd or 3rd weekend (20-minute response time) • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed • Operate and maintain surgical equipment including microscopes, laparoscopic towers, and arthroscope equipment • Utilize specialized equipment such as daVinci Xi robotic system and Stealth Navigation Station • Follow aseptic technique and maintain sterile field during procedures • Perform case cart and crash cart duties • Document procedures using Epic charting system • Complete pre-start and annual training modules (average 16 hours, non-billable) • Maintain BLS and CST certifications • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment • Adhere to universal protocol and time-out procedures • Follow fire safety, laser safety, and radiation safety protocols • Maintain valid state licensure and required certifications • Self-report time spent on training modules • Use facility-provided communication devices when required
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
