Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Winston Salem, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care in ICU stepdown setting with 3:1 or 4:1 patient ratios • Manage patients with arterial lines and titrate vasoactive drips including Cardizem, Nitro, Precedex, Cardene, Levophed, Dopamine, Dobutamine, and Neo • Monitor and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias using bedside telemetry with remote backup • Administer blood products and manage IV insulin protocols • Provide central line care/management, peripheral line care, and PICC line management • Manage chest tubes using Emerson/Pleur-evac systems • Provide tracheostomy care and non-invasive airway management including CPAP/BIPAP and High Flow Nasal Cannula • Care for post-operative patients from GYN, GU, GI, thoracotomy, neuro, and orthopedic surgeries • Manage patients with respiratory distress, unstable hemodynamics, withdrawal, and GI bleeds • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Participate in Rapid Response Team activities • Float to sister ICCU unit as needed based on census and patient care requirements • Work every other weekend and 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Complete hospital orientation during first week including daily classes • Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start • Complete required pre-start and annual training modules (8-10 hours for acute care) • Maintain ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications • Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Follow isolation precautions and infection control protocols • Provide care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
