Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care as an RN in Med Surg Telemetry unit with 1:6 patient ratios
• Care for stroke patients, neurosurgery patients, and other neurological diagnoses including epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas
• Perform IV starts and telemetry monitoring
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Administer blood products and manage central line care
• Manage cardiac and vasoactive drips with titration responsibilities
• Provide care for patients with seizure disorders, spinal cord injuries, and traumatic brain injuries
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Float to other Med Surg/Telemetry areas and COVID care units as required
• Work every other weekend as scheduled
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Complete 36 hours of unit orientation
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Maintain current BLS certification and ACLS preferred
• Pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Provide non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula care
• Manage patients requiring isolation precautions
• Utilize rapid response and code teams when necessary
• Make up any missed shifts within the same week or at end of contract
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Follow facility dress code requirements wearing navy scrubs
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
