Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - ICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 4x10 Nights at a leading Hospital in Eureka, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care services in the ICU with a 1:2 patient ratio • Maintain current ACLS and BCLS certifications • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as needed • Provide care for adults and geriatric patients with various diagnoses including CV recovery • Manage arterial lines and assist with chest tube insertion/removal • Provide care for ventilated patients and manage central lines • Administer blood products and manage continuous IV sedation • Monitor and interpret arterial blood gases and cardiac dysrhythmias • Manage patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure • Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as needed • Provide post-cardiac surgery and post-neurosurgery care • Perform procedural sedation administration and monitoring • Maintain valid California RN licensure • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable ICU setting • Complete 12-hour orientation program • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required • Work night shifts following 4x10-hour schedule (19:00 - 05:30) • Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
