Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Cardiac Tele to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Salisbury, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide direct patient care for cardiac and stroke patients in a telemetry unit setting
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:5-6 patients, with flexibility based on unit needs
• Administer and titrate cardiac drips including Cardizem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone
• Provide pre and post procedure care for pacemaker implantation, cardioverter/defibrillator procedures, and cardiac catheterization
• Monitor patients with telemetry and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Care for patients with various cardiac conditions including unstable angina, CHF, post-MI, and CVA/TIA patients
• Manage patients requiring high-flow oxygen, non-rebreather masks, and chronic BiPAP
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Float to other units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals based on census and skill set
• Work in a fast-paced environment with high patient turnover (78-90 patients weekly)
• Participate in rapid response and code team activities
• Perform IV starts and maintain peripheral and central line care
• Administer blood products and manage heparin protocols
• Provide wound care including wound vac management
• Complete 36 hours of unit orientation and attend daily orientation during first week
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable training modules pre-start and annually
• Work every other weekend with 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays in a 6-week period
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Maintain current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Pass EKG testing prior to assignment start
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
