Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - NICU to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Napa, CA. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care to neonatal patients in Level II NICU setting with patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3 • Maintain current BLS and NRP certifications • Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation • Attend high-risk deliveries as NRP transition nurse • Float between units and attend deliveries as required based on department needs • Work every other weekend and be available for on-call duties depending on census • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year) • Administer blood and blood products, medications including antibiotics/antivirals and anti-seizure medications • Perform APGAR scoring and neonatal dosage calculations • Provide care for neonates greater than 34 weeks and 29-34 weeks gestational age • Manage feeding protocols including bottle, breast, and gavage feeding • Operate specialized equipment including Bubble CPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, and phototherapy units • Start and maintain IVs, perform phlebotomy, and manage UAC/UVC catheters • Provide developmental care, thermoregulation, and patient/family education • Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually (average 16 hours) • Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting • Float between sister facilities and affiliate hospitals as assigned • Complete 36-hour orientation program • Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules in Workramp system • Utilize facility-provided communication devices when required for assignment duties • Maintain valid California RN license throughout assignment
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in CA
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
