Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate CNA - LTC to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 5x8 Rotating at a leading LTC in Kodiak, AK. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide patient care services as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Long Term Care setting
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Complete required modules and training programs pre-start and annually
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Utilize Epic charting system for documentation
• Float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Maintain valid Alaska CNA license or submit application within 72 hours of signing
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 6 months of employment within comparable specialty/setting
• Assist patients with activities of daily living including ambulation, feeding, turning and repositioning
• Perform personal care tasks including bathing, perineal care, mouth care, and incontinence care
• Complete bed baths, bed shampoos, and assist with shower assistance
• Provide foot care, skin care, and decubitus care prevention
• Change linens for occupied and unoccupied beds
• Monitor and obtain vital signs including blood pressure, respirations, pulse, and temperature
• Perform glucose point of care testing and use pulse oximeter
• Handle oxygen tanks and maintain proper isolation precautions
• Don and remove PPE appropriately
• Perform safe patient transfers and report changes in patient condition
• Care for adult and geriatric patients with diagnoses including dementia and CVA
• Complete required compliance documentation and certifications
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Adhere to facility policies and procedures for patient care delivery
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in AK
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
