Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - LTC to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Rotating at a leading LTC in Kodiak, AK. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care services in Long Term Care setting for adults and geriatric patients
• Maintain current BLS certification
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year)
• Utilize Epic charting system for patient documentation
• Float within the hospital or to affiliate hospitals as needed
• Administer oxygen via nasal cannula or face mask
• Provide peripheral line care
• Follow isolation and PPE protocols
• Maintain Alaska RN license in good standing
• Manage patient ratios of up to 21 patients during shifts
• Provide care for patients with dementia, HTN, CVA, mobility abnormalities, Alzheimer's disease, COPD, urinary incontinence, vascular dementia, insomnia, cardiomegaly, weakness, falls, and ataxia
• Complete required modules pre-start and annually (average 16 hours)
• Work variable 3x12 hour shifts (days or nights based on facility needs)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team including physical therapy, social services, lift teams, pharmacy, transportation, and unit secretary
• Provide minimum of 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within comparable specialty/setting
• Self-report time spent on non-billable training modules
• Use facility-provided communication devices when required for patient care duties
• Maintain guaranteed 60 hours per 2-week period
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in AK
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
