Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - Med Surg Tele to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care for medical and post-surgical patients with telemetry monitoring • Maintain patient ratios of 1:6-7 patients per shift • Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias and telemetry readings • Perform IV starts and administer non-titratable cardiac drips • Administer blood products and manage heparin protocols • Provide peripheral line care and management • Manage PCA pumps and pain control protocols • Perform wound care and wound vac management • Provide non-invasive airway management and nasal cannula oxygen therapy • Maintain isolation precautions as required • Document patient care using Epic charting system • Utilize Pyxis medication dispensing system • Communicate using SBAR methodology • Float to other units with similar skill levels as needed • Work every other weekend as required • Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year) • Complete 12 hours of unit orientation • Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually • Maintain current BLS certification • Obtain and maintain ACLS and NIHSS certifications as preferred • Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week • Maintain valid NC or Compact state nursing license • Provide two manager/supervisor references from past 12 months • Complete lab testing and compliance requirements within 48 hours of contract signing
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
