Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Silver Spring, MD. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in the Labor & Delivery unit
• Monitor maternal and fetal vital signs throughout labor and delivery process
• Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and cesarean section procedures
• Administer medications and IV therapy as prescribed
• Perform initial newborn assessments and care
• Educate patients and families on labor process, postpartum care, and newborn care
• Document all patient care activities and observations accurately
• Maintain current nursing license and required certifications
• Complete mandatory health screenings and vaccinations
• Participate in specialty-specific competency testing and skills validation
• Comply with all facility policies, procedures, and safety protocols
• Work 12-hour night shifts as scheduled
• Respond to emergency situations and provide critical care when needed
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in MD
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
