Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist - Radiation Therapist to join our growing clinician community. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide radiation therapy treatments to adult and geriatric patients in oncology setting
• Operate Varian 21ix linear accelerator equipment safely and effectively
• Utilize ARIA electronic medical record system for patient documentation
• Perform external beam therapy and IMRT treatments
• Conduct CBCT/kV/mV imaging for patient positioning verification
• Assist with tumor localization and treatment site simulation
• Apply beam modifying devices and positioning aids as needed
• Work collaboratively with radiation oncologists and registered nurses
• Maintain proper isolation precautions and radiation safety protocols
• Assist patients with lift and transfer devices as required
• Participate in rapid response and code team activities when needed
• Work Monday through Friday with flexible scheduling between 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM and 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
• Maintain current ARRT-T certification and BLS certification
• Complete required pre-start and annual training modules
• Adhere to facility dress code requiring royal blue scrubs
• Comply with fatigue policy limiting work to maximum 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays as required
• Complete laboratory testing and compliance requirements within 48 hours of assignment
• May be assigned to storm team or hurricane team during catastrophic events
• Float to affiliate hospitals or units based on department needs and census
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
