Position Summary:
VitalHire is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN - L&D to join our growing clinician community. This high-impact opportunity offers a 3x12 Nights at a leading Hospital in Bolivia, NC. Key Responsibilities:
• Provide Labor and Delivery and Mother/Baby nursing care in LDRP unit
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4 for couplet care
• Assist with sterile speculum examinations to assess effacement, dilation, station, and presentation
• Utilize External Fetal Heart Monitoring (EFM) and Internal Fetal Monitoring systems
• Recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Provide breastfeeding support and lactation assistance to mothers
• Maintain current BLS, AWHONN, and NRP certifications
• Document patient care using Epic charting system
• Work night shifts from 1845-0715 for 13-week assignment
• Complete 2 mandatory call shifts per 6-week schedule
• Float to assist other units as needed based on census requirements
• Work every other weekend as required
• Adhere to fatigue policy of no more than 5 consecutive days or 60 hours per week
• Complete 8-10 hours of non-billable modules pre-start and annually
• Work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
• Participate in 32-hour unit orientation program
• Comply with dress code requirements for hospital-issued scrubs
• Maintain valid RN license (NC or Compact state)
• Provide two supervisory references from within past 12 months
• Complete required compliance testing within 48 hours of signing
• Perform newborn assessments and provide infant identification procedures
• Assist with various delivery procedures including cesarean sections and vaginal deliveries
• Administer medications including Pitocin, Magnesium Sulfate, and pain management protocols
• Provide discharge teaching to parents and car seat education
• Maintain infection control protocols and isolation precautions as needed
Job Requirements:
- Active, unencumbered license in NC
- Minimum of 1-7 years of relevant experience, depending on specialty
- Current Certifications: BLS and/or ACLS, plus any specialty-specific requirements
- Experience with EMR systems (Epic, Cerner, as applicable)
Other Required Documentation:
- Current Resume listing detailed work history (MM/YYYY format)
- Two current clinical references
- State-required professional license
- Physicial exam (completed within the past 12 months)
- TB skin test or Quantiferon Gold (within the past 12 months)
- Immunity Titers - MMR/Hep B/Varicella (declinations may be accepted)
- Current Tdap and Flu vaccinations
- Must pass background check and drug screening
