Dietitian Needed
Hourly Rate: $35.00 - $45.00 (Dependent on experience)

Registered Dietitians build trusting relationships with patients and their families and utilize dietary education and planning to directly affect their patients' quality of life. Responsibilities include completing patient assessments, creating patient specific nutritional plans, and providing ongoing nutritional support. The qualified candidate must be registered with the Commission of Dietetic Registration. Applicant must also have current licensure in the state or at least one year of clinical nutrition experience. Experience with ESRD patient preferred.
Essential functions would include, but not limited to, the following:
1. Complies with all Company policies and procedures as well as federal, state, OSHA, and other
agency regulations applicable to the position.
2. Handles patient information with discretion and sensitivity and maintains HIPAA compliance.
3. Utilizes tactful and professional communication to promote positive public relations with patients, patient family members, physicians, co-workers, outside agencies, and service providers.
4. Ensures that patients receive appropriate care related to renal diet and medications from Long Term Care Facilities.
5. Provides comprehensive nutritional assessments for dialysis patients, on-going instruction and counseling, monitors adherence to diet, provides nutritional educational material, and reviews monthly lab work.
6. Assists with obtaining IDPN, nutritional resources and protocols.
7. As a member of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT), participates in the completion of Comprehensive Assessments and Plans of Care for all patients, including participating in care plan meetings and ensuring coordination with other service providers as needed.
8. As a member of the Quality Assessment Performance Improvement (QAPI) team, participates in the facility’s Continuous Quality Improvement process. Monitors clinical indicators, attends meetings, and assists with action plans in accordance with the requirements of the QAPI Program.
9. Participates in national and state programs on renal nutritional services and keeps abreast of changes.
10. Reviews monthly lab work on each patient and makes changes in medications and diet orders in conjunction with the attending physician and/or protocols and in accordance with state specific regulations. Assists with managing medications per protocols (e.g., Vitamin D analogs, calcimimetics, phosphorus binders). Assists with obtaining IPN and other nutritional supplements for patients.
11. Refers patients for assistance with nutritional resources such as financial assistance, community resources or in-home assistance and helps in getting nutritional supplements as needed.
12. Performs job duties in accordance with all state/licensing requirements.
13. Assists with other projects and assignments as requested by Clinic Leadership.
Requirements
- Registered by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics on the Commission of Dietetics Registry. - Required
- Current state licensure (if required by the state). Meets all applicable state/licensing requirements. - Required
- Minimum of 1 year professional work experience in clinical nutrition as a registered dietitian (after becoming a Registered Dietitian). - Required
- Member of the American Dietetic Association. - Strongly Preferred
- Previous experience in nutrition associated with the ESRD patient, - Preferred.
- Is responsible for maintaining registration and continuing education hours as specified by the American Dietetic Association.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to speak effectively with clients and fellow staff members.
